The UN Declaration on protection of all persons from enforced disappearances, states that any act of Enforced Disappearances is an offence to Human Dignity.
Youtube Links of the speeches of the speakers are as under;
According to PTM, about 75,000 innocent Pashtuns have been killed, 32000 are missing and 3.5 million people have been internally displaced in the so-called war on terrorism. 1,200 notables were killed for opposing the occupation of Tribal Areas by the Taliban and Pakistan army. Every educated and liberal Pashtun is the target of Pakistan Army and its proxies the Taliban. The disappeared persons are in 44 known and several unknown Internment Centers spread all over Pakistan, where they are humiliated and tortured. Most of them are suffering from psychological and mental problems. The missing persons who have been released recently are suffering from psychological problems. Independent observers believe that most of the missing persons have been killed and dumped in mass-graves.
Promotion and protection of Human Rights are enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Charter of the United Nations including peoples right to Self-Determination ; it is in Article 1 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), the International Covenant on Economic, social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) and in other International instruments. It is already recognized that the denial of right to self-determination is the root cause of many human rights violations. Just like Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other Pashtun-dominated areas in Pakistan are instances where unrepresented peoples and nations are denied their fundamental rights and that includes right to self-determination.
PENALISTS:
Prof. Fazal-ur Rehman AFRIDI—Moderator- President of Institut de recherche et d’études stratégiques de Khyber (IRESK), President PTM France & Principal Representative at United Nations of TUMUKU Development & Cultural Union (ECOSOC)
